East 23rd Street
A young family purchased a home in need of a great deal of work in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn. The house was gut-renovated to create a bright and open living space at the parlor level. To achieve that a bearing wall and interior partitions were removed and replaced with exposed steel beams. Full height windows and a glass door to a redone deck were put in to maximize light to the main living space.
In addition the basement was dug-out and finished to provide space for auxiliary study, storage, and play space and the second floor tenant unit was reconfigured and redone.
